MARTY L. RIESBERG, EML
Lead Instructor (Detroit, Pittsburgh)
Mr. Riesberg is The NEXT Academy Lead Instructor for the Detroit and Pittsburgh Host Locations in 2019. He began his electrical training at Western Iowa Technical Community College. He subsequently began working for a residential contractor and was accepted into the Omaha Joint Electrical Apprenticeship and Training Committee’s Inside Program. Upon completion of the program, he continued working as a Journeyman Inside Wireman. Marty was named the Assistant Training Director for the Omaha Electrical JATC in 2001. He served as an instructor for the JATC for seven years, and has been a member of IBEW LU 22 since 1992. In 2006, Marty joined the NJATC to create a Building Automation curriculum and held the role as Director of Curriculum Development. In this capacity, he had responsibility for all of the curricula used across four different programs at approximately 300 local training centers.
Currently Mr. Riesberg oversees the electrical training ALLIANCE’s Training Partner Program. This program, which is responsible for in excess of $15 Million in partnership activity, allows organized electrical industry students to be trained with the most up-to date products and services in the electrical industry while allowing the manufacturer and distributor Training Partners to highlight their product in the 285 local training centers.
Marty has a Bachelor's in Business Administration from the National Labor College and a Master’s in Leadership from Georgetown University.
He holds certifications from the Electrical Power Research Institute (EPRI), as an Instrumentation and Controls Technician, as a LonWorks System Integrator, and as a Building Industry Consulting Service International Level One Installer, and is a graduate of the NJATC's National Training Institute Program.
Marty currently resides in Maryland with his wife, Paula, and their three sons.
